"I want people - when they decide to escape to different worlds, experience new ideas, and be entertained - to feel like they’re not alone.
Stories about people you like - and are like you - who embark on those kinds of journeys, should bring you into contact with new places and provocative ideas that we can explore together with our hearts and our minds.
My comics, books, and shorts stories span a variety of exciting genres meant to do just that."
-Aaron
After receiving his Master’s from the University of Chicago, Aaron began pursuing writing as a vocation. His enormous appetite for stories was fed copiously as an undergrad at Saint Mary’s College of California where he read The Great Books and translated Ancient Greek literature. It was there that Aaron began to seriously consider the nature of stories and the ideas behind them. The ancient Greek tragedies and 19th century science fiction are huge influences on his writing.
Aaron is best known for writing graphic novels, including Arcana Studio’s critically-acclaimed Marlow (with art by Dario Carrasco, Jr and Mathew Reynolds) and Kid Lightspeed & the Neutron Women, published by Digital Webbing Presents.
Nelson has also written on pop culture, including the essay “Simulating Terror” in PopSmart’s critical anthology “Jack Bauer for President”. He frequently contributes articles for Stateless Media, and has also published poetry and has edited and appeared in a number of comic book anthologies.
He recently began publishing episodes of "Mouse Song" on Kindle Vella.
Aaron lives with his wife and four daughters in the tiny Gold Country town of Shingle Springs, California.
