Synopsis
Set in the snowy English countryside of 1899, a Christmas masquerade at the Manchester family’s Victorian home descends into chaos. Captain Roberts, a disfigured officer recently returned from India, arrives with his Hindu attendants, stirring tensions fueled by bigotry, sexism and social disdain.
As the night deepens, servants vanish and poltergeists assail Emma Manchester, the family's headstrong daughter. Paranoia spreads, with suspicion falling on Roberts and his men, whom Emma defends while chastising her father's racist accusations. However, the horror escalates when the poltergeists assail the Captain and his men after they violently attack their hosts.
As an emerging, malevolent force exacts its terror, supernatural and psychological horrors intertwine, blurring reality and illusion. The victims confront their darkest secrets while performing a deadly ritual led by Captain Roberts, revealing their fragile decency, the humiliation of dying, and Emma's eldritch destiny.
